Primary Management Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple projects at once
- Attend project meetings with clients
- Coordinate design requirements with internal staff as well as other project team members
- Coordinate utility company service requirements
- Perform code research as applicable to each project
- Coordinate resources within office to complete project tasks on schedule and within budget
- Perform quality control and peer reviews of project designs
Secondary Design Responsibilities:
- Perform NEC demand/load calculations, short circuit calculations, lighting calculations, and voltage drop calculations
- Create one-line diagram, estimated electrical service size and load calculations, and design narrative for schematic design phase of projects
- Perform power design for projects, including code research, device layout, equipment power connections, panel board circuit layout and loading, and mechanical equipment schedules
- Perform lighting design for projects, including code research, selection of luminaires and lamps, luminaire layouts, photometric calculations, lighting controls and circuiting, and COMcheck
- Write and edit project construction specifications using MasterSpecs
- Review O&M manuals, shop drawings, equipment submittals, perform project site observations and prepare punch lists
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
- Passed FE Exam
- 5+ years of experience in design of electrical systems for commercial & institutional construction
- Knowledge of NEC / IECC and other building codes
- Project Management experience required, especially managing multiple projects concurrently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to pass background check required for badging at airports and other government facilities
- US Citizen
Desired Qualifications:
- PE license desired, Colorado and California
- AutoCAD and/or Revit drafting experience
